License and registration
ShakaPerf is source-available under The ShakaPerf License, a trust-based commercial license. No license keys, no activation, nothing phones home. You are trusted to determine in good faith whether your use is free or paid.
Free for most uses
Reading and studying the source, a 45-day evaluation per organization (agents welcome), education, personal projects, and work on public open-source projects are free for everyone.
Production use, including CI, PR checks, and coding-agent workflows, is also free for small organizations as defined in the license. If your organization is above the small-organization line, production use requires a paid subscription. See pricing.
Registration is free and optional
ShakaCode encourages every organization, free and paid alike, to register. Registration is free of charge, requires only a verified email address, and is never a condition of any free use.
Registering identifies your organization in generated reports and gets you advance notice of license and product changes. It is identity, not DRM.
How to register
Email contact@shakacode.com with your organization name, website, and a contact email. We confirm by reply, and that is the whole process.
Terms are stable
Once a version of ShakaPerf ships under these terms, those terms govern that version permanently. Terms may loosen over time, but never tighten on a version you already have.
